Arius

Meet Arius.

Arius is single male Pisces who enjoys long walks in deserted graveyards, full moons, folk dancing and heavy necking… Particularly if primary arteries are involved. He is looking for love and romance, preferably with a like-minded female shape that enjoys the occasional hoedown and doesn’t mind losing a lot of blood. He doesn’t mind children provided they are medium rare and served with an appropriate garnish.

Phew!
Finally finished this thing.

Didn’t really get much of a response when asking for folks to sound off on where to take this guy (which wasn’t all that surprising when one considers just how long I’ve been away from DA) and thus I owe my son a huge THANK YOU for offering a second set of eyes for this painting and for simply putting up with his mother whilst I alternated between ‘ARRGH!’ and ‘Hmmm.’

Robert? You’re awesome and your mother loves you immensely. Thank you.

Upon uploading this, I noticed a rather LARGE color discrepancy between how he looks on my work system and how he looks from my laptop (which is what I am using to upload him with). The colors on my work system are highly saturated and lovely whist on the laptop, he looks washed out and … Meh.

I would very much appreciate comments on how the colors are registering for you guys. Does he seem really washed out to you all, or can you see all the subtle color variations in his skin and what have you? This is important and it may affect how I paint in the future and what color selections I use so input is *greatly* appreciated.

I did continue to take screen shots as I worked and thus, I shall be posting a deviation titled ‘Arius Walkthrough Part Two’ shortly. It picks up where ‘screencap goodness’ left off and takes it all the way to the finished image.

The last time I attempted to upload all the WIP images into my scraps folder, DA got snarky with me and refused to cooperate.

Thus, I will only attempt that particular exercise in patience if there is marked interest in seeing them as there are many of them and I try to limit my ‘going batshit crazy’ excursions to only once a day.
